Suzanne Aproian-Bendick Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Bendick received her Masters and Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology - Los Angeles in 1991. She completed her undergraduate work at Siena College in Loudonville, NY, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Dr. Bendick completed one year internship at the Metropolitan State Psychiatric Hospital and a one year internship at the Veteran's Administration Outpatient Clinic in Los Angeles, California. When she received her Ph.D. in 1991, she worked with women focusing on recovery from issues of sexual abuse. She then worked with teenagers in residential treatment facilities. Her final work in California, before returning to her home base, involved being the Clinical Director and Administrator for several group homes for teenagers dealing with various clinical diagnoses. Upon returning to New York, she served as Clinical Psychologist at Binghamton Psychiatric Center. Dr. Bendick took a position at the Capital District Psychiatric Center in Albany, NY as Clinical Director of Crossroads Adolescent Day Treatment where she oversaw a school and mental health clinic for teenagers age 13-18. Her most recent work has been in nursing homes working with the aging population in rehabilitation and long-term care.
Dr Bendick has joined the team at Adirondack CrossRoads Psychology, PLLC where she sees patients in various age ranges beginning at 11 years old. She works primarily from a trauma modality, incorporating principles of Psychoanalysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. Dr Bendick's strong faith in God overlays all of her life work. She integrates this faith into her sessions through the use of prayer and spiritual wisdom and understanding which invites long lasting identification of problems and solutions.
